Reading Sikhi Camp 2013


Reading Singh Sabha Gurdwara is holding it's third Sikhi Camp on Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June. Organised by the youth of the Gurdwara it will cater for all Sikhi needs for all ages.

On Friday 31st May:
From 10am to 4pm.
There will be external well experienced speakers who will conduct talks, workshops and discussion groups in both English and Punjabi. There will pizza, chips and beans langar...ohh and not forgetting that there will be a bouncy castle as well!!!

On Saturday 1st June:

From 9am to 6pm 
Coach trip...... yes a coach trip to Derby Sikh Museum! Can see Sikh heritage first hand, have talks and discussions around different Sikh artefacts. Did you know the museum contains one of the largest collections of Sikh artillery in the world - with a rare cannon from the time of Banda Singh Bahadur who created the first Khalsa Raj in 1709!!

If you wish to book yourself on the coach going to the Derby Sikh Museum - please email us your interest or turn up at the Gurdwara this weekend (Sunday 26th may) at 1130 and come to the small hall where Sikhi class will be taking place. There is no cost for booking your seat on the coach!!

We are pleased to announce that prominent Kirtani Bhai Harjinder Singh Sri Nagar Vale, will be reciting gurbani shabads at Reading gurdwara sahib.
 
Bhai sahib is currently touring the UK, but will predominantly be visiting Gurdwara's in the south and midlands areas. This will be the first time Bhai Sahib will be visiting Reading Gurdwara and is not to be missed!
 
Please take anand from this divan and encourage family and friends to do the same.

As most of you know that the Planning Application for new Guru Ghar has been submitted to the Wokingham borough Council on 02/03/12.
All the residents surrounding the new site have received the letters from the council for comments. As expected, everyone of them have objected very strongly and put all the negative points against the development.
We believe it is our duty to support the planning Application for the new Guru Ghar and put forward positive points about the development.
We anticipate that all my respected friends will accept my request. Even if you are not in Wokingham BC area you can encourage /educate other families living in Wokingham BC to support the application.

Inspirations Talk - Bhai Navreet Singh on TONIGHT 6pm-7pm

Inspirations is a new Sikhi project started in Reading Gurdwara with some spiritual and inspirational talkers all over UK who will inspire sangat form their life experience.

The second talk in the series is by Bhai Navreet Singh from Coventry tonight (Saturday 10 March). Bhai Sahib is a leading youth Parchaarik (preacher) and is involved in Seva to increase the Satkaar (respect) of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
Car parking available at Newtown School in Cumberland Road (see attached map)

Guys this is a talk not to be missed!! Come along and join us in this inspiring talk by Bhai Sahib. There will also be an open Q&A session for 10 minutes after the talk.
